ISO 22716 for Perfume Manufacturing: What Buyers Should Know

By AROMAMATRIX Project Team

Perfume bottle and carton artwork checked against label requirements, relevant to ISO 22716 perfume manufacturing

ISO 22716 provides guidelines for cosmetic good manufacturing practices covering production, control, storage and shipment. Buyers should understand what a supplier's claim or certificate covers instead of treating the standard as finished-product approval.

Relevant controls include personnel, premises, equipment, materials, documentation, production, quality control, deviations, complaints and recalls. Ask for the certificate scope, site, issuing body and validity, then compare it with the location performing your work.

ISO 22716 does not determine whether a perfume formula or label complies in every market. The brand or responsible party still needs the appropriate product safety and regulatory review.
