Perfume Box Packaging Guide: Cartons, Inserts and Gift Sets

By AROMAMATRIX Project Team

Perfume bottle, pump and carton components under engineering review, relevant to perfume box packaging

A perfume box has three jobs: protect the bottle, carry required information and present the brand. Structural design should begin with the actual bottle and cap, not a guessed dimension.

Control movement

Choose an insert that supports the bottle without marking its finish. Consider orientation, removal force and vibration during transport. Heavy caps and irregular glass need more than a visually attractive cavity.

Prepare artwork for production

Use the final dieline, include bleed and safe areas, and reserve space for ingredients, responsible-party information, volume, warnings, batch coding and barcode as applicable. Review foil, embossing and dark solid colors on physical material.

For e-commerce, test the retail box inside its shipping protection. A beautiful carton that collapses or allows glass-to-glass movement is not production-ready.
