Perfume production lead time is the sum of development, buyer decisions, component procurement, manufacturing and freight—not a single number starting when an inquiry is sent.
Fragrance revisions, custom decoration, new molds and delayed artwork approvals create separate dependencies. A carton cannot be printed safely before its dieline and regulatory text are final. A finished sample cannot be assembled before components arrive.
Build a dated milestone plan covering brief, fragrance approval, component approval, artwork, pre-production sample, purchasing, production, inspection and shipment. Distinguish estimates from confirmed supplier dates. Add buyer review time and transport booking, especially for alcohol-based products.
Ask what event starts the quoted lead time. Deposit, final artwork and all approvals may be required before the clock begins.
