Perfume branding is the set of expectations created before, during and after someone smells the product. A logo and luxury vocabulary cannot compensate for an unclear customer, inconsistent scent or unreliable package.
Define the buyer, use occasion, price level, sales channel and emotional territory. If the positioning only uses words such as premium, elegant and timeless, it will be difficult for a perfumer, designer or retailer to make decisions from it.
A quiet skin-scent brand and a nightclub fragrance should not share the same brief merely because both want “long lasting.” Decide which olfactory characteristics, bottle cues, materials and claims support the intended experience. Remove features that do not reinforce it.
Color, typography, naming and bottle decoration must work across future scents and physical production tolerances. Check readability, label space and required market information early. The strongest identity is one that remains recognizable when a new fragrance is added without redesigning every component.
