Perfume Shipment Damage: Inspection and Claims Checklist

When a perfume shipment is damaged, preserve evidence before sorting or discarding goods. Carriers, insurers and suppliers need to distinguish transport damage from manufacturing defects.

1. Photograph sealed cartons, labels, pallet condition and damage on opening.
2. Record quantities by carton and defect type.
3. Keep affected units, packaging and shipping documents.
4. Notify the carrier and supplier within the contractual time limit.
5. Separate leaking, broken, cosmetic and scent-related complaints.

Do not accept a vague remedy process before ordering. Agree inspection standards, claim window, evidence, liability limits and whether replacement, credit or rework may apply. Dangerous or leaking goods may require specialist disposal instructions.
